The Open. It isn’t about Castro. It isn’t about Regionals. It isn’t about the Games. The Open, since I started CrossFit 6 years ago, is about each and every one of us. It’s about that 5 weeks during the year when as many people from the gym show up at about the same time to workout together. It’s about the atmosphere that causes PR’s and accomplishments you didn’t think possible. It’s about a crowd of people cheering on every athlete as they finish. It’s about every single person there, showing they are just as important as the athletes that make it to the next level. The Open is about community. Who knows what the future holds, but one thing is for certain. The foundation was and still is community. And that my friends, is better than any podium finish.
